The Worry Free Moving Checklist

Moving is a process, and as with any other process it is good to have a guide. This guide will assist you in moving with ease and create harmony within those moving boxes.

Have you booked the moving company?

Have you gotten an in-person estimate from the moving company?

Have you ordered your boxes and supplies?

Have you enlisted packing assistance?

Have you planned transportation to your new home?

If flying, have you planned a way for your vehicle to be transported?

Have you changed your address to your new home?

Have you packed all of your belongings into moving boxes?

Have you finalized the items that are going to come with you to the new home?

Have you planned to have a garage sale?

Have you contacted your insurance company to change insurance information?

Have you emptied your safety deposit box?

Have you made the phone call to have the utilities disconnected the day that you are leaving your previous home?

Have you emptied the gas out of all Barbeques, lawnmowers and power tools before the move?

Have you assisted the driver with the inventory of your possessions?

Have you marked boxes with warnings, fragile stickers, and do not load stickers before the movers come?

Have you checked your phone number and address of the new residence with the moving company?

Have you ensured that all packing services were complete before you signed off on them?

Have you had one last check of your house before leaving?

Have you signed the bill of lading that will accompany your furniture and moving boxes while it is in transit?

Have you brought the box of important documents, and labelled do not pack to travel with you? In this box also include things that you will need before all the boxes are unpacked in your new home.

These are some commonly forgotten things, keep a list, keep organized, and you should have a move without any disturbances!
