Plan a separate package for your most essential commodities and items with your moving supplies. These may include your slippers or your tooth brush. Keep these things handy with you in your car. Ideally keep some space in your car for some final essential items that may crop up. Apart from that, it’s advisable to keep expensive items, silverware and other such stuff in one’s own grasp. It’s unlikely that the professional company may falter but preferable, do not take any chances.
Now on the D-day when you have to move, split the items into two groups. Basically, the ones which you shall pack and the rest you want the company to pack for you. This will reduce confusion and prior arrangement of this will lead to lesser confusion on the last day. It will not only help you but the workers of the company as well.
If you have pets, its best to bundle them in your car at the last moment. Animals tend to get irritated easily and considering that the environment at your place will be total ruckus, its better to let them wander till the last moment. Have some cast handy with you as you may need to buy some food or other stuff that day. Also, check your gasoline level for the D-day and mark all these points in your essential moving checklist to consider later on. If you are using services of your friend then give him something as a token of thanks from your side. Also remember to tip the company workers for their help.
